The building dates from 1982: "The building’s red-brick hall […] was designed with the historic and architectural context of Old Strathcona in mind" (Vaughan and Wanchuk, 1986).

From strathconecommunity.ca: "If you need a hall or a room for your event, consider booking the Strathcona Community League facilities. A lounge, the main hall and a small meeting room are available for rent."

The main hall has a maximum capacity of 105 people.  The Lounge seats 30-35.  A small concession on the main floor seats 10-12.  

The Strathcona Community league is one of the oldest in Edmonton, first founded in 1918.  

As of 2017, the Strathcona Community Hall is home to the Edmonton Weaver's Guild (edmontonweavers.org).
