Focus: Shakedown Sessions Vol. 2

Cartridge
If two words could define Cartridge, they would be “musical adventure”. From the throwback drum and bass vibes of “Light Cycles” to the penetrating futurism of “Inside Your Mind”, his releases on Freak have shown quite a range. 2005 sees Cartridge leaving the label to become a free agent, pursuing new opportunities and a different vision for jungle music. Watch out for a tearing remix of Fast Floor’s old-skool classic “Plight of the innovators” coming on Basement, and a planned 12” for rising Irish label Bassbin.

Lazersnake
Cartridge has also been keeping busy on the side, with “videogame funk rock” band Lazer-snake. Now in its second incarnation, Lazersnake consists of Scott Koladich (Cartridge) on keyboards and “Ultra Drums” and Evan Frost on bass and drums – live dance music at a variety of tempos, held together by large beats and stupid-fun hooks.
